On The Edge (Film)

On The Edge is a documentary film on Colonsay made in 2006 by Tom McKendrick, an Australian independent film-maker, who lived and worked on Colonsay for some time. 

This film was made at the time when there was a movement in the Scottish parliament to cease monetary and other support for the small communities in the islands which, if successful, would have meant many communities being abandoned.  The video was made to highlight the history of Colonsay and, more importantly, the positive future of the island.  The idea of ceasing support was thankfully never realised!
