Aberdeen Highland Games
The Games begin with a parade of bands, clan representatives and others that leads into the Massed Band Salute and Chieftain’s Address that officially opens the day. Throughout the day there will be fun for all the family – there will be Highland and Country Dancing, Pipe Band displays, Strong Man events with the Kilted Warriors to enjoy as well as three-legged races, and the famed Kilted Dash to participate in. A multitude of stores and stands will surround the area selling all manner of Scottish heirlooms and souvenirs, clothing and garb, and food and drink to complete your day.
In the evening there will be a Pipe Band Quintet competition at the Aberdeen RSL Club.
Macfie Clan Society of Australia 50th Anniversary Dinner
The Macfie Clan Society of Australia is 50 years old on 3 May 2024 and we’re planning to celebrate with a Scottish dinner. We welcome Members, families, friends and supporters.
Members of other Clans are especially welcome to help us make this a night to remember.

QLD Scottish Festival
The BBC Pipe Band invite you and your families to the QLD Scottish Festival. Entry is free, so come along and enjoy the Scottish stalls, food trucks, bar, piping and drumming performances along with Highland Dancing. Please be aware that the bar and food trucks are EFTPOS only. This event is guaranteed to be a fun day out for the whole family. We hope to see you there. (Note: Free parking available on P & F Oval).
The Clan Macfie Society will have a Gazebo at the event which will be manned by Roger McPhee our Treasurer.

Ian McPhee will be the Chieftain of the Aberdeen Highland Games in 2022.
The Gathering
The Gathering brings the wider community together in celebration of Celtic music, culture and performance.
In the spirit of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, against the historic backdrop of Ipswich, visitors will witness the colour and spectacle of the Queensland Pipe Band Spectacular, featuring 250 of Australia’s pipe band competitors.
A Highland dancing competition, Celtic music, lost arts and a medieval re-enactment will also feature at this annual Highland gathering of Scottish, Irish, Welsh, French, Spanish, Cornish Celtic cultures.
Visitors can also sample Haggis, learn how to play the bagpipes and even participate in the strong man style Highland games, featuring the famous caber toss.

Melbourne Highland Games
The Melbourne Highland Games & Celtic Festival (previously the Ringwood Highland Games) has been held annually since 1967 at the end of March or early April, and is usually the last gathering of the Victorian state season.
Events prior to the Games include a Street March in the Main Street of Croydon shopping precinct during the Maroondah Festival in November, and a Ceilidh on the preceding Friday Night.

Scottish Week Sydney
The SAHC is delighted to announce that our much loved week will be back this year with Covid safe outings for all the family to enjoy.
The first major Celtic / Scottish event in Sydney in over a year will be presented by the Scottish Australian Heritage Council (SAHC) and The Celtic Council of Australia from Friday 25 June to Monday 28 June 2021. This is a great opportunity to wear your tartan again.
We will welcome back clan folk, those of Scottish descent and everyone who wishes to celebrate Celtic Culture starting with the Celtic Bards’ Dinner on Friday 25 June at Cellos Restaurant, Castlereagh Boutique Hotel from 6.30pm.
This event is being held in conjunction with the Celtic Council of Australia and will present Celtic Honours awards for 2021 to deserving recipients.
The guest speaker is Alasdair Taylor, is renowned for his work in Scotland through Earth for Life. He is now with the National Trust of Australia. He will talk about “Reminiscences of a 20-year stay in Scotland”
Entertainment includes the Address to the Haggis, Highland and Irish dancing, poetry from the seven Celtic nations and a dram or two. Bookings are essential.
The annual inspection of the Scotland Australian Cairn ceremony, Rawson Park, Mosman is on Saturday 26 June at 11.00am with our piper leading the Clan march and the Australian Gaelic Choir singing. This is followed by a BBQ lunch and a family Ceilidh in the Drill Hall with the Ceilidh Collective providing the music for singing, dance, etc.
Sunday 27 June is the annual Kirkin o’ the Tartan at Hunter Baillie Memorial Presbyterian Church, Annandale, at 9.30am – bring your tartan.
Monday 28 June is the Annual Tartan Day lunch at NSW Parliament House at 12 noon. Bookings are essential.
In the evening (7.00pm via zoom) we will present a lecture with Dr Benjamin Wilkie, PhD, JD, Grad Cert (Higher Education Teaching and Learning), on “The Legacies of Robert Burns in Australia”. Dr Wilkie is an historian of the Scottish Diaspora and Honorary Associate in La Trobe University's College of Arts, Social Science and Commerce and the Centre for the Study of the Inland.
The week kicks off with a combined dinner with the Celtic Council of Australia on Friday 25th June at the Cello’s Restaurant, The Castlereagh Boutique Hotel, 169 Castlereagh Street, Sydney (near Town Hall Station). This will be a night of full entertainment which includes a tasty 3 course meal, Address to the Haggis, Irish & Scottish dancing, presentation of Celtic Awards and a great guest speaker.
