Announcement
As of February 2026, the Clan MacDubhsith Council of Presidents has not identified
a suitable candidate to put forward to a Family Convention for the position of Clan
Commander. This information has been conveyed to Carrick Pursuivant, the Clan’s
Supervising Officer at the court of the Lord Lyon. As a result, the Council and
Carrick concur that the Family Convention of the Clan MacDubhsith planned for May,
2026 in Scotland should be postponed.
Further information regarding next actions by the Council for the Commander search
will be forthcoming and posted on the Council and Society websites. Thank you for
understanding and for your continuing support of our Clan.

The Clan that comprises the surnames MacDuffie, MacDuffee, MacDuffy, MacFee, MacFie, MacPhee, MacPhie, and other accepted cognates is currently without a Chief or a Clan Commander (Ceann-Cath).
The Clan MacDubhsith Commander will provide leadership, carry forward development of the Clan, and drive the process to identify a suitable Chief.
The Lord Lyon King of Arms will be petitioned for authorization to convene a Family Convention to be held in May 2026. At this event nominees for the position of Commander will be considered by eligible members of the worldwide Clan for selection as their nominee to be presented to the Lord Lyon for review and approval if accepted.
In its search for a qualified and appropriate person to lead the Clan, the Council of Presidents, (representing the seven Clan societies, Family groups and all other eligible Clan members) worldwide, has prepared reference information and the necessary Forms to be submitted by eligible candidates which includes a Notice of Intent to be considered as a Candidate for Commander.
